The tips I offer here are personal experiences of mine with my Keurig coffee maker, with the hope that some of you might find them useful.
As convenient as this coffee maker is with the Keurig K Cups, there are times when I find myself wandering outside the box.
Or maybe inside the box…I recently found a box of tea bags that had been around for a while, and didn’t want them to go to waste. I grabbed a quart Mason canning jar, threw in a bit of sugar and a tea bag, and brewed hot water from my Keurig coffee maker into it. I then let it cool a bit, and put it in the fridge. I did the same with a second jar—lather, rinse, repeat. Now I keep a backup in the fridge all the time.
Another tip: brew a K Cup of cocoa or hot chocolate, but for a larger amount, use the 10 or 12 ounces setting of hot water and add cocoa or hot chocolate mix to taste.
I won’t go as far as claiming the possibilities are endless, but there is a lot of versatility to be discovered with these machines—see what you can find.
